Start date not on file Darby Allin Length not on file
AEW's Oct. 24 closer lists Allin as TNT Champion against Josh Alexander. The Oct. 21 recap uses the same label. No start date is printed.
Darby Allin is the AEW TNT Champion in the sources this file uses. The current line is that simple because the sources are. AEW’s October 24 Collision recap lists a Fright Night match as “TNT Championship: Darby Allin against Josh Alexander,” and the October 21 Dynamite recap calls him TNT Champion inside the Blood and Guts lineup. No start date for the reign is printed in either article. None is added. The blank gold plate in the art is a stand-in. It is not AEW’s title design, and the mask is not Allin’s face.
How the Wednesday match got made
On October 24, from the LJVM Coliseum in Winston-Salem, Alexander beat Blade Brown. AEW says RPG Vice was with him, that he won with the C4 Spike and an ankle lock the referee stopped, and that he then asked for Allin on Fright Night Dynamite. He said he wanted the TNT Title and to do for the Don Callis Family what other champions in the group had done. He also talked about Adam Copeland and about putting the TNT Title on the line against him. The opponent AEW then listed is Allin, not Copeland. The October 28 card follows the list. Status: announced. Venue for the live date: Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, from AEW’s event page, with the Collision closer telling viewers the show is on TBS and HBO Max at 8/7c.
A result does not exist. If you are reading this after the show and the winner is still blank, the results file has not landed. Do not treat a social post outside the source list as the update. The Dynamite hub is the door.
The other place his name is printed
October 21’s recap puts Allin in the Ospreay and Copeland post-match, handing a bat to Steven Borden before the Blood and Guts challenge. The lineup that closes that section includes “TNT Champion Darby Allin” on the side opposite the Callis Family. The November 4 card repeats the lineup. The TNT Title is not stipulated there. Allin can be champion and be in a non-title cage match. Will Ospreay is in the same lineup as world champion, and the world title file makes the same distinction. If Alexander beats Allin on October 28, the November 4 label “TNT Champion Darby Allin” becomes a description of who he was on October 21, not who the champion is. The person in the match and the name of the champion would need to be checked separately. This file will not pre-edit that.
Defenses that are not in this drop
Earlier October previews on AEW’s site have advertised Allin in other matches. This drop does not carry a result for those matches, so they are not defenses on the record here. Being called champion on October 21 and being advertised as champion on October 24 is evidence he held the title between those dates. It is not a count of successful defenses. A number would be a guess. The champions analysis leaves the same blank for other belts. The standards are why.
Collision’s Saturday card does not include this title. The Artist of Stardom match is a different championship on a different broadcast. Full Gear’s partial card does not include it either. The TNT Title’s sourced future, as of this clock, is one announced singles match and one cage match that does not advertise the belt. That is a thin history and an honest one. The storylines piece can say the Callis Family is collecting shots at champions. This page only says whose shot at this champion is actually booked.
Alexander’s promo also offered the title to Copeland in a hypothetical. Recording the hypothetical here is a guardrail. Someone skimming the Collision recap can walk away thinking two TNT matches were made, one with Allin and one with Copeland. The announced list at the end of the article has one TNT match. The hypothetical is what a champion-to-be said he would do. He is not the champion in this file. Allin is. If that changes on Wednesday, the hypothetical becomes a thing the new champion said before he won, which is still not a booked Copeland match. The Blood and Guts lineup is the other place Allin’s name is doing work. He is there as a person and as a champion label. Update the label if the person loses the belt. Leave the person in the match unless AEW removes him. Those are two edits, not one, and mixing them is how a title file corrupts a cage card. The profile can carry the week as a week. This page carries the belt, the one booked defense, and a hard refusal to count any single past defense this desk did not actually read.
