Sami Zayn's title path from Fresno to Riyadh

Three sourced beats: a controversial Raw defense, an announced SmackDown title match with Trick Williams, and a champion-versus-champion booking with Roman Reigns.

  1. result

    Fresno defense

Sami Zayn beat Je'Von Evans to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. Penta's cash-in was stopped by Bron Breakker before it became a match. WWE called the win controversial.

  2. announced

    Charleston title match

Zayn is advertised against Trick Williams for the Undisputed WWE Championship. WWE's Oct. 23 results named the match. There is no winner on this beat.

  3. announced

    Crown Jewel

Roman Reigns, World Heavyweight Champion, is booked against Zayn. The preview does not call the match a unification. Friday's result could change the name before this beat.

This thread has three beats because three episode pages exist. October 16 and October 23 are real SmackDowns in WWE’s results, and they are not beats here. Those nights do not have their own episode files in this drop. The October 23 sentence that names the Charleston match is used as the source for the Friday beat. The six-man itself is not redrawn as a fourth week. A tracker that invents a page for Ontario would be a thinner kind of complete.

Beat one is a result. Sami Zayn kept the Undisputed WWE Championship against Je’Von Evans on the October 26 Raw. The controversy is WWE’s word. Penta did not get a cash-in match. That is the state of the title on the way out of Fresno. It is not a statement about Trick Williams, who was not in the match, and it is not a statement about Roman Reigns, who was not in the building in any sourced segment on that results page.

Beat two is announced. The October 30 card puts Williams opposite Zayn in Charleston. The status pill on that row should stay announced until a results file replaces it. The rivalry page explains why the six-man does not count as a singles win. This thread’s job is the order of the weeks, not the tally.

Beat three is also announced. Crown Jewel books Reigns against Zayn. If Williams wins the title on Friday, this beat is wrong until someone edits it. The thread is dated to the editorial clock of October 28, before either of those bells. Leaving the name Zayn on November 7 is fidelity to the preview, not a prediction that he will still be champion.

Read the beats from the top. Do not skip to Riyadh and treat Fresno as a footnote. Fresno is the only finished chapter. The other two are bookings. The champions analysis holds the rest of the index so this feud does not have to carry every belt. Keep the pills visible. A result and two announcements are not the same kind of week, and the thread is only useful if a reader can tell them apart without opening a second tab. Open the episode, read the match row, and come back. The tracker is only a map for readers, not a second recap of that same night. Use the pills, then the links.
